Rule 2: The Objective of the Association
To act as a national resource and network for nurses to share knowledge, expertise and best practice about Parkinson´s disease and its management, locally, nationally and internationally.
Therefore the main aims for the PDNSA Committee for 2010 will be:
- To continue to represent and raise the profile of PDNS´s
- To actively communicate between the PDNSA committee and its members via
- Transmitter / eTransmitter
- Website Updates
- PDNSA Report to Regional Groups after each committee Meeting
- To promote best practice and partnership working using the following:
- Influence national policy development and the political agenda by joint working with the PDS and RCN on the Year of Care.
- Influence national policy development in collaboration with other Nurological Nursing Associations.
- Promote awareness of the PDNSA to raise the Association's profile.
- Support and facilitate innovative practice and developments.
- Continued joint working with PDS, Pharmaceutical industry, Healthy Alliance.
- Jointly deliver the 1st BritModus Conference January 14th and 15th 2010, collaborating with Neurologists and Geriatricians collegues.
- As organisational partners, assist the World Parkinson Congress in organising and delivering their second conference September 28th - October 1st.
- Plan the 11th PDNSA Annual Conference - provisionally planned for October 2011.
- Annual General Meeting is delivered in appropriate format as there is no Annual Conference in 2010
