WPC Parkinsons Pledge
Monday, February 06 2012 - 09:46 AM GMT

In preparation for the next World Parkinson Congress in 2013, we are seeking to collect many more signatures for the Global Parkinson’s Pledge! As a WPC partner organization, we hope Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialist Association will help us gather signatures for the pledge in order to raise global awareness about Parkinson’s disease and to highlight the urgency of better care for people with Parkinson's.
The Global Parkinson's Pledge was launched at the second World Parkinson Congress in Glasgow, Scotland in 2010 to build a global Parkinson’s movement, make Parkinson’s a priority health, social and economic issue around the world, and to advance the cure. The Pledge will be presented to the World Health Organisation and other leading government bodies to help showcase the urgent need to invest in better care options for people living with chronic degenerative disease such as Parkinson's. You can help us promote the pledge by mentioning it in your newsletter or e-blast, posting a link to the pledge on your facebook or twitter, or by “liking” the World Parkinson Congress Facebook page. Attached is a jpeg image of the Parkinson’s pledge logo for you to post on your website with a link to the pledge at: http://www.parkinsonspledge.org.
The pledge has been translated into French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Lithuanian, Dutch, Italian, and German. Please email us at info@worldpdcongress.org if you would like a copy of the pledge in any of these languages!
