We are currently recruiting for an Advisory Officer (Nurse) to work on a bank basis, to help provide cover for the helpline on an adhoc basis.


About the role

You will provide expert nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s and related conditions to users of the telephone advisory service, in line with Advisory Service standards and procedures. You will have experience of using computer software such as Microsoft Office and Advisory Service systems including Respond and Call Handling, to manage workload with a willingness to learn new packages as required.

Skills, knowledge and experience

With an in depth knowledge of Parkinson’s related issues, you will be able to provide advice and information over the telephone and face-to-face.

You will therefore possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information to a wide range of people from all backgrounds.

The helpline is open from 9.00am to 8.00pm on weekdays and 10.00am to 2.00pm on Saturdays.

The ideal candidate would have potential availability for both daytime and evening sessions. We require someone who is a Registered General Nurse with recent knowledge and experience of working with people with Parkinson’s
